The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

Acts 12:24-25

24 But the Word of God grew and multiplied. 25 And Barnabas and Saul returned from Jerusalem when they had fulfilled their ministry, and took with them John, whose surname was Mark.

Acts 13:1-12

1 Now there were in the church at Antioch certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3 And when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

4 So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, departed unto Seleucia, and from thence they sailed to Cyprus. 5 And when they were at Salamis, they preached the Word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had also John in their ministry.

6 And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar-Jesus. 7 He was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the Word of God. 8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 9 Then Saul (who also is called Paul), filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him 10 and said, "O, full of all guile and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? 11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season." And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness, and he went about seeking someone to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

Psalms 67

1 God be merciful unto us and bless us,
and cause His face to shine upon us,
2 that Thy way may be known upon earth,
Thy saving health among all nations.

3 Let the people praise Thee, O God;
let all the people praise Thee.
4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for Thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon the earth.
5 Let the people praise Thee, O God;
let all the people praise Thee.
6 Then shall the earth yield her increase;
and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7 God shall bless us,
and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

Words of Worship - John 8:12b

"I am the Light of the world. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

John 12:44-50

44 Jesus cried out and said,

"He that believeth in Me, believeth not in Me, but in Him that sent Me. 45 And he that seeth Me, seeth Him that sent Me. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth in Me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear My words and believe not, I judge him not; for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth Me and receiveth not My words, hath One that judgeth him; the Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the Last Day. 49 For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father who sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His commandment is life everlasting. Whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak."

Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiastes 8:1

Who is as the wise man? And who knoweth the interpretation of a thing?
A man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Luke 6:43-44a
