The Lectionary
According to the Christian Seasons
Acts 13:44-52
44 And the next Sabbath day came almost
the whole city together to hear the Word of God. 45 But
when the Jews saw the multitudes they were filled with
envy, and spoke against those things which were spoken by
Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. 46 Then Paul and
Barnabas waxed bold and said, "It was necessary that
the Word of God should first have been spoken to you. But
seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy
of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For
so hath the Lord commanded us, saying,
'I have set thee to be a light of the
Gentiles,
that thou shouldest bring salvation unto the ends of
the earth.'"
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they
were glad and glorified the Word of the Lord; and as many
as were ordained to eternal life believed.
49 And the Word of the Lord was spread
abroad throughout all the region. 50 But the Jews stirred
up the devout and honorable women and the chief men of
the city, and raised persecution against Paul and
Barnabas, and expelled them out of their borders. 51 But
they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and
came unto Iconium. 52 And the disciples were filled with
joy and with the Holy Ghost.
Psalm 98
1 O sing unto the LORD a new song, for He hath done marvelous
things!
His right hand and His holy arm hath gotten Him the victory.
2 The LORD hath made known His salvation;
His righteousness hath He openly shown in the sight of the heathen.
3 He hath remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of
Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth!
Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise!
5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet
make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King!
7 Let the sea roar and the fullness thereof,
the world and they that dwell therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands,
let the hills be joyful together 9 before the LORD.
For He cometh to judge the earth;
with righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people with
equity.
Words of Worship - John 8:31b-32
"If ye continue in My Word, then
are ye My disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth, and the
truth shall make you free."
John 14:7-14
7 If ye had known Me,
ye should have known My Father also; and from henceforth ye know
Him, and have seen Him."
8 Philip said unto Him, "Lord, show
us the Father, and it sufficeth us." 9 Jesus said
unto him,
"Have I been so long a
time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me,
Philip? He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father;
and how sayest thou then, `Show us the Father'? 10
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the
Father in Me? The words that I speak unto you I speak
not of Myself; but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He
doeth the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the
Father, and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for
the very works' sake. 12 Verily, verily I say unto
you, he that believeth in Me, the works that I do he
shall do also; and greater works than these shall he
do, because I go unto My Father. 13 And whatsoever ye
shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father
may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask
anything in My name, I will do it.
Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiastes 8:12-13
Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and his days be
prolonged,
yet surely I know that it shall be well with those who fear God, who fear
before Him.
But it shall not be well with the wicked; neither shall he prolong his
days,
which are as a shadow, because he feareth not before God.
Jesus Speaks
Morals & Values - Luke 8:5-8, 11-15

"A sower went out to sow
his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the
wayside, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured
it. And some fell upon a rock, and as soon as it had sprung up, it
withered away because it lacked moisture. And some fell among
thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it. And other
fell on good ground, and sprang up and bore fruit a hundredfold."
"He that hath ears to hear,
let him hear!" Now the parable is this: The seed is the Word of God.
Those by the wayside are they that hear; then cometh the devil and
taketh away the Word out of their hearts, lest they should believe
and be saved. The seed on the rock are they that, when they hear,
receive the Word with joy, but they have no root: they for a while
believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell
among thorns are they that, when they have heard, go forth and are
choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring
no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they that,
in an honest and good heart, having heard the Word, keep it and
bring forth fruit with patience.
