1 Peter 5

1 The elders who are among you I exhort, who am also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight of them, not by constraint but willingly, not for filthy lucre but out of a ready mind, 3 neither as being lords over God's heritage, but by being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility; for

"God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world. 10 But after ye have suffered a while, may the God of all grace, who hath called us into His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

12 By Silvanus, whom I account to be a faithful brother unto you, I have written briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

13 The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you, and so doth Mark, my son. 14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all who are in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 89:1-18

1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever;
with my mouth will I make known Thy faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I have said, "Mercy shall be built up for ever;
Thy faithfulness shalt Thou establish in the very heavens."

3 "I have made a covenant with My chosen,
I have sworn unto David My servant:
4 'Thy Seed will I establish for ever,
and build up thy throne to all generations.'"

5 And the heavens shall praise Thy wonders, O LORD,
Thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD?
Who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints,
and to be held in reverence by all them that are about Him.

8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto Thee?
Or to Thy faithfulness round about Thee?
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea;
when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain;
Thou hast scattered Thine enemies with Thy strong arm.
11 The heavens are Thine, the earth also is Thine;
as for the world and the fullness thereof, Thou hast founded them.
12 The north and the south, Thou hast created them;
Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in Thy name.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm;
strong is Thy hand, and high is Thy right hand.
14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of Thy throne;
mercy and truth shall go before Thy face.

15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound!
They shall walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance.
16 In Thy name shall they rejoice all the day,
and in Thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
17 For Thou art the glory of their strength,
and in Thy favor our horn shall be exalted.
18 For the LORD is our defense,
and the Holy One of Israel is our King.

Mark 16:9-20 

9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven devils. 10 And she went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, believed not. 12 After that, He appeared in another form unto two of them as they walked and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it unto the rest, but neither did they believe them. 

14 Afterward He appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat; and He upbraided them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not those who had seen Him after He was risen. 15 And He said unto them, 

"Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." 

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up into Heaven, and sat at the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs following. Amen. 

Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiastes 9:7-8

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; 
for God now accepteth thy works. 
Let thy garments be always white, 
and let thy head lack no ointment.
