The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

Zechariah 2:10-13

10 "Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee," saith the LORD. 11 "And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people; and I will dwell in the midst of thee. And thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. 12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again."

13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD, for He is raised up out of His holy habitation.

Judith 13:17-20

17 Then all the people were wonderfully astonished, and bowed themselves and worshiped God, and said with one accord, "Blessed be Thou, O our God, who hast this day brought to nought the enemies of Thy people." 18 Then said Uzziah unto her, "O daughter, blessed art thou by the Most High God above all the women upon the earth; and blessed be the Lord God, who hath created the heavens and the earth, who hath directed thee to the cutting off of the head of the chief of our enemies. 19 For this thy confidence shall not depart from the heart of men, who remember the power of God for ever. 20 And God turn these things to thee for a perpetual praise to visit thee with good things, because thou hast not spared thy life for the affliction of our nation, but hast avenged our ruin, walking a straight way before our God." And all the people said, "So be it, so be it."

Luke 1:26-38

26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her and said, "Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women." 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying and cast about in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel said unto her, "Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favor with God. 31 And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb and bring forth a Son, and shalt call His name JESUS. 32 He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David, 33 and He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His Kingdom there shall be no end."

34 Then said Mary unto the angel, "How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?" 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, "The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that Holy Being who shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And behold, thy cousin Elizabeth: she hath also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible." 38 And Mary said, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word." And the angel departed from her.

Words of Wisdom - Proverbs 2:6-7

For the LORD giveth wisdom;
out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
He layeth up sound wisdom of the righteous;
He is buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Matthew 5:25-26

"Agree with thine adversary quickly while thou art on the way with him, lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt by  no means come out thence until thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
