The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

Song of Solomon 2:8-14

8 The voice of my beloved!
Behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.
9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart.
Behold, he standeth behind our wall;
he looketh forth at the windows,
showing himself through the lattice.
10 My beloved spoke and said unto me,
`Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
11 For lo, the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs,
and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.
Arise, my love, my fair one,
and come away.'"

14 "O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs,
let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice;
for sweet is thy voice,
and thy countenance is comely."

Psalm 33

1 Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous!
For praise is comely for the upright.
2 Praise the LORD with the harp;
sing unto Him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
3 Sing unto Him a new song;
play skillfully with a loud noise.
4 For the word of the LORD is right,
and all His works are done in truth.
5 He loveth righteousness and judgment;
the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
7 He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He layeth up the deep in storehouses.

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
9 For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.

10 The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought;
He maketh the devices of the people of no effect.
11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever,
the thoughts of His heart to all generations.

12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.

13 The LORD looketh down from heaven;
He beholdeth all of the sons of men.
14 From the place of His habitation
He looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 He fashioneth the hearts of all;
He considereth all their works.

16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 A horse is a vain thing for safety;
neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear Him,
upon them that hope in His mercy,
19 to deliver their soul from death,
and to keep them alive in famine.

20 Our soul waiteth for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
21 For our heart shall rejoice in Him,
because we have trusted in His holy name.
22 Let Thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us,
according as we hope in Thee.

Luke 1:39-45

39 And Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Judah, 40 and entered into the house of Zacharias and saluted Elizabeth. 41 And it came to pass, when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost. 42 And she spoke out with a loud voice and said, "Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And why is it granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she that believed; for there shall be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord."

Words of Wisdom - Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart,
and lean not unto thine own understanding;
in all thy ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct thy paths.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Matthew 46-48

For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more  than others? Do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father who is in Heaven is perfect.
