The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

2 Samuel 6:12b-19

So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the City of David with gladness. 13 And it was so that, when those who bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. 14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul's daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. 17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it; and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD. 18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts. 19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread and a good piece of flesh and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

Psalm 24

1 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof,
the world and they that dwell therein.
2 For He hath founded it upon the seas,
and established it upon the floods.

3 Who shall ascend onto the hill of the LORD?
Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?
4 He that hath clean hands and a pure heart,
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of them that seek Him,
that seek Thy face, O God of Jacob.

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates! And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates! Even lift them up, ye everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.

Words of Worship - Matthew 11:25

"I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Mark 3:31-35

31 There came then His brethren and His mother, and standing outside they sent unto Him, calling Him. 32 And the multitude sat about Him, and they said unto Him, "Behold, thy mother and thy brethren outside seek for thee." 33 And He answered them, saying,

"Who is My mother, or My brethren?"

34 And He looked round about on those who sat about Him and said,

"Behold, My mother and My brethren. 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is My brother, and My sister, and mother."

Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiasticus 5:13

13 Honor and shame are in talk,
and the tongue of man is his fall.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Matthew 10:29-31

"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore; ye are of more value than many sparrows.
