The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

1 John 3:7-12

7 Little children, let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him, and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 By this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither is he that loveth not his brother. 11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning: that we should love one another. 12 Be not as Cain, who was of that wicked one and slew his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

Psalm 98

1 O sing unto the LORD a new song, for He hath done marvelous things!
His right hand and His holy arm hath gotten Him the victory.
2 The LORD hath made known His salvation;
His righteousness hath He openly shown in the sight of the heathen.
3 He hath remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth!
Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise!
5 Sing unto the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet
make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King!

7 Let the sea roar and the fullness thereof,
the world and they that dwell therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands,
let the hills be joyful together 9 before the LORD.
For He cometh to judge the earth;
with righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people with equity.

Words of Worship - Hebrews 1:1-2a

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in times past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son,

John 1:35-42

35 Again the next day John stood with two of his disciples, 36 and looking upon Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!" 37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. 38 Then Jesus turned and saw them following, and said unto them,

"What seek ye?"

They said unto Him, "Rabbi" (which is to say, being interpreted, "Master"), "where dwellest Thou?" 39 He said unto them,

"Come and see."

They came and saw where He dwelt and stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.

40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. 41 He first found his own brother Simon and said unto him, "We have found the Messiah" (which is, being interpreted, "the Christ"). 42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, He said,

"Thou art Simon, the son of Jonah. Thou shalt be called Cephas"

(which is by interpretation, "a stone").

Words of Wisdom - 2 Chronicles 16:9a

For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Matthew 7:1-2

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
