Authorized VersionTM NAVTM)
According to the Christian Seasons
10 if thou shalt
hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God to keep His commandments and His
statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if thou turn unto the
LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul.
11 "For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not
hidden from thee, neither is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that thou
shouldest say, `Who shall go up for us to heaven and bring it unto us, that we
may hear it and do it?' 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou
shouldest say, `Who shall go over the sea for us and bring it unto us, that we
may hear it and do it?' 14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy
mouth and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
19 Thou hast known my reproach and my shame and my dishonor;
mine adversaries are all before Thee.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart,
and I am full of heaviness;
I looked for some to take pity, but there was none,
and for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my meat,
and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them,
and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a
trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not;
and make their loins continually to shake.
24 Pour out Thine indignation upon them,
and let Thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate,
and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom Thou hast smitten,
and they talk of the grief of those whom Thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity,
and let them not come into Thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living,
and not be written with the righteous.
29 But I am poor and sorrowful;
let Thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song,
and will magnify Him with thanksgiving.
31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox
or a bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
32 The humble shall see this and be glad,
and your heart shall live, that seek God.
33 For the LORD heareth the poor,
and despiseth not His prisoners.
34 Let the heaven and earth praise Him,
the seas and every thing that moveth therein.
35 For God will save Zion and will build the cities of Judah,
that they may dwell there and possess it.
36 The seed also of His servants shall inherit it,
and them that love His name shall dwell therein.
15 He is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. 16 For by Him were all things
created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether
they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were
created by Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and by Him all
things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church. He is the
beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He might have the
preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell,
20 and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all
things unto Himself -- by Him, I say, whether they be things on earth or things
John 6:63c, 68c
The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they
Thou hast the words of eternal life,
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,
"Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 26 He said unto
"What is written in the law? How readest
27 And he answering said, "`Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all
thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy
mind, and thy neighbor as thyself.'" 28 And He said unto him,
"Thou hast answered right; this do, and
thou shalt live."
29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said unto Jesus, "And who is my
neighbor?" 30 And Jesus answering said,
"A certain man went down from Jerusalem
to Jericho and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his raiment and wounded
him and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 And by chance there came down a
certain priest that way. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him and
passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came
to where he was. And when he saw him he had compassion on him, 34 and went to
him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his
own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And on the
morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host and
said unto him, `Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I
come again I will repay thee.' 36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was
neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves?"
37 And he said, "He that showed mercy on him." Then said Jesus unto
"Go and do thou likewise."
Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiasticus 37:16
Let reason go before every enterprise, and counsel before every action.
Morals & Values - Luke 6:44b-45
For from thorns
men do not gather figs, nor from a bramble bush gather they grapes.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil
man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil;
for of the abundance of his heart his mouth speaketh.
