The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

Exodus 40:16-21

16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he.

17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up. 18 And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof and reared up his pillars. 19 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it, as the LORD commanded Moses. 20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark. 21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the veil of the covering and covered the ark of the Testimony, as the LORD commanded Moses.

Exodus 40:34-38

34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys; 37 but if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not until the day that it was taken up. 38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.

Psalm 84

1 How amiable are Thy tabernacles,
O LORD of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD;
my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found a house,
and the swallow a nest for herself where she may lay her young" even Thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house;
they will be ever praising Thee.

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee,
in whose heart are Thy ways,
6 who passing through the Valley of Baca makes it a well;
the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength;
every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
8 O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob.

9 Behold, O God our shield,
and look upon the face of Thine anointed.
10 For a day in Thy courts
is better than a thousand; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God,
than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory;
no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O LORD of hosts,
blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee!

Words of Worship - John 8:12b

"I am the Light of the world. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

John 11:17-27

17 Then when Jesus came, He found that he had lain in the grave four days already. 18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about two miles away, 19 and many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him; but Mary sat still in the house. 21 Then Martha said unto Jesus, "Lord, if Thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But I know that even now, whatsoever Thou wilt ask of God, God will give it Thee." 23 Jesus said unto her,

"Thy brother shall rise again."

24 Martha said unto Him, "I know that he shall rise again at the resurrection on the Last Day." 25 Jesus said unto her,

"I am the resurrection and the Life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; 26 and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?"

27 She said unto Him, "Yea, Lord, I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, who should come into the world."

Words of Wisdom - Wisdom of Solomon 6:21

If your delight be then in thrones and scepters, O ye kings of the people,
honor wisdom, that ye may reign for evermore.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Matthew 12:11-12

And He said unto them,

"What man shall there be among you that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the Sabbath day, will not lay hold on it and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days."
