The Lectionary
According to the Christian Seasons
Hosea 2:14-23
14 "Therefore, behold, I will allure her,
and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortingly unto her.
15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence,
and the Valley of Achor for a door of hope;
and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth,
and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
16 "And it shall be at that day," saith the LORD,
"that thou shalt call Me `Ishi' [that is, My husband], and shalt call Me no
more `Baali' [that is, My Lord]. 17 For I will take away the names of the Baalim
out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name. 18 And in
that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with
the fowls of the heavens, and with the creeping things of the ground; and I will
break the bow and the sword and warfare out of the earth, and will make them to
lie down safely. 19 And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will
betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness,
and in mercies. 20 I will even betroth thee unto Me in faithfulness, and thou
shalt know the LORD.
21 "And it shall come to pass in that day I will
hear,"
saith the LORD,
"I will hear the heavens,
and they shall hear the earth.
22 And the earth shall hear the corn and the wine and the
oil,
and they shall hear Jezreel.
23 And I will sow her unto Me in the earth;
and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy;
and I will say to those who were not My people, `Thou art My
people';
and they shall say, `Thou art my God.'"
Psalm 145
1 I will extol Thee, my God, O King;
and I will bless Thy name for ever and ever.
2 Every day will I bless Thee,
and I will praise Thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised,
and His greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise Thy works to another,
and shall declare Thy mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honor of Thy majesty,
and of Thy wondrous works.
6 And men shall speak of the might of Thy fearsome acts,
and I will declare Thy greatness.
7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of Thy great goodness,
and shall sing of Thy righteousness.
8 The LORD is gracious and full of compassion,
slow to anger and of great mercy.
9 The LORD is good to all,
and His tender mercies are over all His works.
10 All Thy works shall praise Thee, O LORD,
and Thy saints shall bless Thee.
11 They shall speak of the glory of Thy Kingdom
and talk of Thy power,
12 to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts
and the glorious majesty of His Kingdom.
13 Thy Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom,
and Thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
14 The LORD upholdeth all that fall,
and raiseth up all those that are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all wait upon Thee,
and Thou givest them their meat in due season.
16 Thou openest Thine hand,
and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways,
and holy in all His works.
18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon Him,
to all that call upon Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him;
He also will hear their cry and will save them.
20 The LORD preserveth all them that love Him,
but all the wicked will He destroy.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD,
and let all flesh bless His holy name for ever and ever.
Words of Worship - 2 Timothy 1:10
but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior
Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death and hath brought life and
immortality to light through the Gospel.
Matthew 9:18-26
18 While He spoke these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler
and worshiped Him, saying, "My daughter is even now dead, but come and lay
Thy hand upon her, and she shall live." 19 And Jesus arose and followed
him, and so did His disciples.
20 And behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood for twelve
years came up behind Him and touched the hem of His garment; 21 for she said to
herself, "If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole." 22 But
Jesus turned about, and when He saw her, He said,
"Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith
hath made thee whole."
And the woman was made whole from that hour.
23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house and saw the minstrels and the
people making a noise, 24 He said unto them,
"Give way, for the maid is not dead, but
sleepeth."
And they laughed Him to scorn. 25 But when the people were put outside, He
went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. 26 And the fame thereof
went abroad throughout all the land.
Words of Wisdom - Proverbs 22:1
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favor rather than silver and gold.

For I say unto you
that unless your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the
scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of
Heaven.
