Genesis 46:1-7, 28-34
1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had and came to
Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 2 And
God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night and said, "Jacob,
Jacob." And he said, "Here am I." 3 And He said,
"I am God, the God of thy father. Fear not to go down into Egypt,
for I will there make of thee a great nation. 4 I will go down with
thee into Egypt, and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph
shall put his hand upon thine eyes." 5 And Jacob rose up from
Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their
little ones and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to
carry him. 6 And they took their cattle and their goods which they
had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all
his seed with him: 7 his sons and his sons' sons with him, his
daughters and his sons' daughters; and all his seed brought he with him
28 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph to direct his face unto
Goshen, and they came into the land of Goshen. 29 And Joseph made ready his
chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father in Goshen, and presented himself
unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. 30 And
Israel said unto Joseph, "Now let me die, since I have seen thy face,
because thou art yet alive." 31 And Joseph said unto his brethren and
unto his father's house, "I will go up and show Pharaoh, and say unto him,
`My brethren and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, have come
unto me. 32 And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed
cattle; and they have brought their flocks and their herds, and all that they
have.' 33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you and shall
say, `What is your occupation?' 34 that ye shall say, `Thy servants' trade
hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we and also our
fathers,' that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an
abomination unto the Egyptians."
Psalm 37:1-11, 18-19, 28-40
1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
and wither as the green herb.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the LORD,
and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the LORD;
trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
6 And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,
and thy judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because
of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath;
fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off;
but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall not
yea, thou shalt diligently look for his place, and it shall not be.
11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,
and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
18 The LORD knoweth the days of the upright;
and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time,
and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
28 For the LORD loveth judgment,
and forsaketh not His saints;
they are preserved for ever,
but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
and dwell therein for ever.
30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom,
and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31 The law of his God is in his heart;
none of his steps shall slide.
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous,
and seeketh to slay him.
33 But the LORD will not leave him in his hand,
nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on the LORD and keep His way, and He shall
exalt thee to inherit the land;
when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power,
and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and lo, he was no more;
yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 Mark the perfect man and behold the upright,
for the end of that man is peace.
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;
the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 But the salvation of the righteous is in the
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the LORD shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they
trust in Him.
Words of Worship - John 16:13
However when He,
the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for He
shall not speak from Himself, but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall
He speak; and He will show you things to come.
16 "Behold, I send you
forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye
therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 17
But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to
the councils, and they will scourge you in their
synagogues, 18 and ye shall be brought before
governors and kings for My sake, for a testimony
against them and the Gentiles. 19 But when they
deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall
speak, for it shall be given you in that same hour
what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak,
but the Spirit of your Father who speaketh in you. 21
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to
death, and the father the child; and the children
shall rise up against their parents and cause them to
be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated by all men
for My name's sake, but he that endureth to the end
shall be saved. 23 But when they persecute you in
this city, flee ye into another; for verily I say
unto you, ye shall not have gone through the cities
of Israel till the Son of Man be come.
Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiasticus 29:10
Lose thy money for thy brother and thy friend,
and let it not rust under a stone to be lost.
Morals & Values - Matthew 6:34
"Take therefore no
thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the
things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
