Authorized VersionTM NAVTM)
According to the Christian Seasons
1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he and his wife and all that he
had, and Lot with him, into the south. 2 And Abram was very rich in
cattle, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journeys from the
south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the
beginning, between Bethel and Ai, 4 unto the place of the altar which he
had made there at the first; and there Abram called on the name of the
LORD. 5 And Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and
tents. 6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell
together; for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell
together. 7 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle
and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle; and the Canaanites and the Perizzites
dwelled then in the land.
8 And Abram said unto Lot, "Let there be no strife, I pray thee,
between me and thee and between my herdsmen and thy herdsmen; for we are
brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before thee? Separate thyself, I pray
thee, from me. If thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the
right, or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left."
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that
it was well watered everywhere (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and
Gomorrah), even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as
thou comest unto Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of
Jordan; and Lot journeyed east, and they separated themselves the one
from the other. 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled
in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. 13 But
the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
14 And the LORD said unto Abram after Lot was separated from him,
"Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art,
northward and southward and eastward and westward; 15 for all the land
which thou seest, to thee will I give it and to thy seed for ever.
16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man
can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth
of it, for I will give it unto thee." 18 Then Abram removed his tent and
came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built
there an altar unto the LORD.
1 LORD, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle?
Who shall dwell in Thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart;
3 he that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his
nor spreadeth a reproach against his neighbor;
4 in whose eyes a vile person is contemned,
but he honoreth them that fear the LORD;
he that taketh an oath to his own hurt,
and changeth not;
5 he that putteth not out his money to usury,
nor taketh a bribe against the innocent.
He that doeth these things
shall never be moved.
Words of Worship - John 8:12
"I am the Light of
the world. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall
have the light of life."
6 "Give not that which is holy
unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again
and rend you.
7 "Ask, and it shall be given
you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you. 8 For every one that asketh receiveth;
and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it
shall be opened.
9 "Or what man is there among
you whom, if his son ask for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask for
a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give
good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in
Heaven give good things to them that ask Him? 12 Therefore, all things
whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this
is the Law and the Prophets.
13 "Enter ye in at the strait
gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be who go in thereat. 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow
is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Words of Wisdom - Isaiah 58:10-11
and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry
and satisfy the afflicted soul,
then shall thy light rise in obscurity
and thy darkness be as the noonday.
And the LORD shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones;
and thou shalt be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.
Morals & Values - Matthew 5:33-37
"Again, ye have heard
that it hath been said by them of old times, `Thou shalt not forswear thyself,
but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths.' But I say unto you, swear not
at all: neither by Heaven, for it is God's throne; nor by the earth, for it
is His footstool; neither by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair
white or black. But let your communication be `yea, yea' or `nay, nay'; for
whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
