The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

2 Timothy 3:10-17

10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 persecutions, afflictions which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra -- what persecutions I endured. But out of them all, the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all who will live a godly life in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing from whom thou hast learned them, 15 and that from childhood thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for all good works.

Psalm 119:153-168

153 Consider mine affliction and deliver me,
for I do not forget Thy law.
154 Plead my cause and deliver me;
quicken me according to Thy word.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked,
for they seek not Thy statutes.
156 Great are Thy tender mercies, O LORD;
quicken me according to Thy judgments.
157 Many are my persecutors and mine enemies,
yet do I not depart from Thy testimonies.
158 I beheld the transgressors and was grieved,
because they kept not Thy word.
159 Consider how I love Thy precepts;
quicken me, O LORD, according to Thy lovingkindness.
160 Thy word is true from the beginning,
and every one of Thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

161 Princes have persecuted me without cause,
but my heart standeth in awe of Thy word.
162 I rejoice at Thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.
163 I hate and abhor lying, but Thy law do I love.
164 Seven times a day do I praise Thee, because of Thy righteous judgments.
165 Great peace have they that love Thy law, and nothing shall cause them to fall.
166 LORD, I have hoped for Thy salvation and have done Thy commandments.
167 My soul hath kept Thy testimonies, and I love them exceedingly.
168 I have kept Thy precepts and Thy testimonies,
for all my ways are before Thee.

Words of Worship - John 14:23b

"If a man love Me, he will keep My words; and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him and make Our abode with him.

Mark 12:35-40

35 And Jesus answered and said, while He taught in the temple,

"How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost:

'The Lord said to my Lord,
"Sit Thou at My right hand
until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool."'

37 David therefore himself calleth Him 'Lord'; and whence is He then his son?"

And the common people heard Him gladly.

38 And He said unto them in His doctrine,

"Beware of the scribes, who love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, 39 and the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts, 40 who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation."

Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiastes 11:4

He that observeth the wind shall not sow,
and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Luke 14:34-35

"Salt is good; but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
