The Lectionary According to the Christian Seasons

Exodus 34:1-16

1 And the LORD said unto Moses, "Hew thee two tablets of stone like unto the first, and I will write upon these tablets the words that were in the first tablets which thou brokest. 2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto Mount Sinai, and present thyself there to Me on the top of the mount. 3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount." 4 And he hewed two tablets of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning and went up unto Mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tablets of stone. 5 And the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6 And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children unto the third and to the fourth generation."

8 And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. 9 And he said, "If now I have found grace in Thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray Thee, go among us, for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for Thine inheritance." 10 And He said, "Behold, I make a covenant. Before all thy people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom thou art shall see the work of the LORD, for it is a fearsome thing that I will do with thee. 11 Observe thou that which I command thee this day. Behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite and the Canaanite, and the Hittite and the Perizzite, and the Hivite and the Jebusite. 12 Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee. 13 But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their Asherah poles. 14 For thou shalt worship no other god; for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God, 15 lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee and thou eat of his sacrifice, 16 and thou take their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.

Three Holy Children 52-65

54 O all ye things that grow on the earth, bless ye the Lord;

55 O ye fountains, bless ye the Lord;

56 O ye seas and rivers, bless ye the Lord;
praise and exalt Him above all for ever.
57 O ye whales and all that move in the waters,
bless ye the Lord; praise and exalt Him above all for ever.
58 O all ye fowls of the air, bless ye the Lord;
praise and exalt Him above all for ever.
59 O all ye beasts and cattle, bless ye the Lord;
praise and exalt Him above all for ever.
60 "O ye children of men, bless ye the Lord;
praise and exalt Him above all for ever.

64 O ye spirits and souls of the righteous,
bless ye the Lord; praise and exalt Him above all for ever.
65 O ye holy and humble men of heart,

2 Corinthians 13:7-14

7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil, not that we should appear to be approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth. 9 For we are glad when we are weak and ye are strong. And this also we wish: even your perfection. 10 Therefore I write these things being absent, lest, were I present, I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me for edification, and not for destruction.

11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

12 Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13 All the saints salute you.

14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.

Amen.

Words of Worship - Revelation 1:8

"I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending," saith the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

John 3:16-18

16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 "He that believeth in Him is not condemned; but He that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Words of Wisdom - Ecclesiasticus 21:2

Flee from sin as from the face of a serpent,
for if thou comest too near it, it will bite thee;
the teeth thereof are as the teeth of a lion,
slaying the souls of men.

Jesus Speaks Morals & Values - Luke 12:42-46

"Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler
over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? Blessed
is that servant whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing. In truth I
say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But if that
servant say in his heart, `My lord delayeth his coming,' and shall begin to beat
the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink and be drunken, the lord
of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour
when he is not aware, and will cut him asunder and will appoint him his
portion with the unbelievers.
